Privacy Policy for SCROLR

SCROLR (the App) is developed by Cree8tix (we, us, or our). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle any information related to your use of the App. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices and applies to the App available on the Google Play Store.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information from you, such as your name, email address, phone number, or location data. The App is designed to operate primarily offline and locally on your device.

Device and Usage Data

Local Storage: The App uses AsyncStorage (a local storage mechanism) to save user presets, such as custom text, colors, speeds, and effects. This data is stored solely on your device and is not transmitted to any servers.
Device Permissions:
- Microphone Access: Used exclusively for the optional Audio-Reactive Mode, which analyzes sound levels from your device's microphone to sync text blinking with audio. No audio is recorded, stored, or shared.
- Brightness and Keep-Awake: Adjusts screen brightness and prevents the device from sleeping when enabled. This uses device APIs and does not collect data.
- Orientation and Accelerometer: Locks screen orientation and detects device shakes for randomization features. Sensor data is processed locally in real-time and not stored or shared.
Ad-Related Data: If you enable ads (default: on), the App integrates Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect anonymized device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID), IP address, and usage analytics to personalize and serve ads. We do not control or access this data — see Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any sensitive personal data, health information, or financial details.

2. How We Use Information

Local Data: Preset and configuration data is used only to personalize your experience within the App (e.g., saving and loading custom LED text scrolls).
Permissions: Device sensors and APIs are used solely for App functionality, such as audio visualization or shake-based randomization, and are processed on-device without external sharing.
Ads: Anonymized data from AdMob is used to deliver relevant ads, improving monetization while funding App development. You can disable ads in settings, though this may limit feature access.

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond App functionality.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only external sharing occurs via:

Google AdMob: For ad serving, as described above. AdMob adheres to Google’s privacy practices, including options for opting out of personalized ads via your device settings.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data would not be transferred without notice and consent.

4. Data Retention

Local Data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete it via App settings or uninstall the App.
Ad Data: Managed by AdMob; we retain no logs. You can reset your advertising ID in device settings at any time.

5. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect local data, including encryption where applicable via AsyncStorage. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. For AdMob data, Google provides industry-standard security.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us immediately to delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of data processing. Since we collect no personal data:
